Department               Cohorts – Spurgeon College - Academics

FLSA Status                Hourly, Non-Exempt


JOB PURPOSE


The Ministry Cohort Administrative serves Spurgeon College and the Ministry Cohort Office by maintaining office records, planning and implementing events, and aiding academic and ministry placement initiatives so that students in the Ministry Cohort can be trained for a lifetime of ministry.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


Assist with Spurgeon College Cohort Cup Events and Records

  • ­ Maintain Cohort Cup Scoreboard record
  • ­ Scheduling and planning for Cohort Cup events, Captains meetings, etc.
  • ­ Maintain Spurgeon College Cohort Cup Budget Sheet

Assist with On-Campus Ministry Cohort Events

  • ­ Reserve rooms and order food
  • ­ Set up and tear down rooms for Ministry cohort events
  • ­ Maintain student communications and attendance records for Ministry cohort events

Assist with Office Logistics and Recruiting events

  • ­ Keep budget worksheet up to date
  • ­ Maintain accurate and up to date academic data
  • ­ Book travel reservations
  • ­ Pack supplies for every recruiting event

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

MUST BE CURRENT STUDENT OF MBTS OR SPURGEON COLLEGE, AND

MUST QUALIFY FOR THE FEDERAL WORK STUDY PROGRAM VIA FAFSA

Including, 

  • Christian with high integrity, currently pursuing a relationship with God
  • Minimum two years in a bachelor’s program (preferred)
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs required.
  • Basic knowledge of Canvas, Mailchimp, and Buffer preferred.
  • Well written and well-spoken with professional nature both person to person and via phone/social medial contact.
  • Able to plan and calendar long-range projects of a year or more, and to systematically execute the plans as developed.
  • Able to multi-task, analyze workload, and prioritize as necessary for the benefit of the department
  • Able to take the initiative to complete the duties of the position without the need of direct supervision.
  • Able to learn and utilize new skills and information to improve job performance and efficiency. 
  • Must be able to work independently, as well as a part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must show a desire and willingness to learn
  • Must possess a positive attitude
  • Able to pass background screening, including driving record
  • Eligible to work in the United States

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Monday through Friday between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm.
  • Working hours may not exceed 20 hours per week.
  • Some evening or weekend work may be required.
  • Must be able to work varying shifts.

PHYSICIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequently required to sit or stand for periods of time at a desk or computer station.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities may include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
