Position Title: Hall Monitor-Part time
Classification: BTESP C1; Union Position
Report to/Evaluated by: Building Principal
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 5.5 hours per day (part-time)
Rate of Pay: $14.29/hour

The Hall Monitor is responsible for student supervision in the school cafeteria, hallways, restrooms, and other common areas on the school campus.
Essential Duties
Monitor hallways;
Monitor cafeteria;
Monitor restrooms;
Monitor the campus;
Monitor campus cleanliness;
Check for students vaping/smoking in the building and on campus;
Deliver messages to classrooms;
Escort students to and from the office;
Take in-service training as provided in accordance with the contract;
Additional duties associated with the classification may be assigned as needed.
Supervisory Responsibility
The Hall Monitor has responsibility for supervising students and assisting in maintaining a safe environment at all times.

Education and Experience
High school graduate or equivalent (GED);
Previous experience supervising children in a school setting preferred;
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students and staff;
Ability to relate to students in a manner to elicit their cooperation;
Ability to understand and effectively carry out instructions;
Ability to exercise mature judgment in controlling student behavior;
Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather and adapt to a variety of situations.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively read, write, and present information in one-on-one and small group situations to students, staff, and parents.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
Ability to perform operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems in accordance with building and district discipline policy.
Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
