Description
General Definition:
- Assists in the daily operation of the gift shop, including inventory control and merchandising, coordinating and monitoring daily activities of gift shop employees.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assists in overseeing the daily operation of all gift shop kiosks.
- Oversees opening and closing of kiosk locations.
- Assists in merchandising functions including receiving inventory, stocking, merchandise display, pricing and signage.
- Assists gift shop employees with sales functions including MICROS system, cash handling, and daily transaction reporting.
- Accepts money and other transactions and provides correct change to customers.
- Acts as supervisor and responsible for the gift shop operation in the absence of the manager.
- Relieves staff for breaks or meal periods as needed.
- Stays informed of current promotions involving gift shop items.
- Reports to Concessions/Gift Shop Manager any violation of company or departmental policies in a timely manner.
- Assists in coordinating and executing physical inventory counts on a monthly (or as assigned) basis; ensuring counts are accurate and conducted timely.
- Records receipt of ordered merchandise, including verifying the description, quantity, and pricing of merchandise ordered. Reports discrepancies to Gift Shop Manager in a timely manner.
- Opens and unpacks cartons or crates of merchandise, verifies accuracy of invoice against items received. Reports discrepancies to Concessions/Gift Shop Manager in a timely manner.
- Assists with stamping, attaching, or changing merchandise price tags; refers to price list for accuracy and consistency.
- Inspects merchandise to ensure correct pricing and display.
- Checks and maintains par levels daily. Alerts Concessions/Gift Shop manager to low quantities, missing items and other discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Assists with signage and display of merchandise to attract customers and promote sales.
- Responds to customer complaints in a friendly, professional manner. Involves Gift Shop Manager as needed.
- Assists in employee training, including company policies, departmental procedures, MICROS system, and other job duties as assigned.
- Assists gift shop employees in completing difficult or complex sales.
- Assists gift shop employees with voids and returns when necessary.
- Assists other departments with merchandise transfers as needed.
- Recommends effective ways to control inventory, increase security measures, promotions, and merchandising.
- Maintains a neat and orderly work area.
- Performs other related duties as may be assigned by reporting senior.
Qualifications
Education & Training:
- High school diploma or GED; or three years related experience and/or training; or combination.
- Four years of experience required, including two years supervisory experience in operations or related field
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must possess high integrity and work ethics.
- Excellent customer service, communication skills, and ability to work as a team required.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers, co-workers, and employees.
- Must be able to give and follow specific instruction, including providing supervision to support staff.

Licenses/Certifications/Other:
- Must be able to pass a background check and receive a license or permit from any Regulatory Agency if applicable to perform the essential job functions.
