Job Description:
Architectural Vision & Technical Leadership
Define the technical architecture, roadmap and design for Guidewire PolicyCenter implementations, including on-premise, cloud, and hybrid deployments, aligning with the client's enterprise architecture standards.
Develop architectural blueprints, technical roadmaps, and strategies for Guidewire PolicyCenter that support long-term business goals and evolving technology landscapes.
Evaluate new Guidewire features, modules, and industry trends (e.g., AI/ML integration, microservices, cloud-native patterns) to recommend strategic adoption.
Act as a trusted technical advisor to senior management, business stakeholders, and project teams, articulating complex technical concepts clearly
Responsible for technical solutioning, understanding the nuances of the Guidewire PolicyCenter platform to best address business requirements
Define non-functional requirements such as performance, scalability, security, availability, and disaster recovery for PolicyCenter and ensure designs meet these requirements
Provide expert technical leadership and guidance to development teams (senior developers, developers, and integrators)
Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure the quality, maintainability, and performance of the codebase.
Configuration
Design, develop, and maintain Guidewire PolicyCenter tailoring them to meet specific client needs and business requirements.
Work with Guidewire’s proprietary language (Gosu), Page Configuration File(PCF), Activity, Underwriting rules, Plugins, Workflow, etc.
Create new data model elements and extend the existing application's data model with new properties for data persistence.
Develop a thorough understanding of the PolicyCenter data model to effectively manage and transform data within the system.
Oversee the design of user interfaces (PCFs), business rules, and workflows, ensuring alignment with user experience best practices and business processes.
Work closely with business users to understand new LOB structure and work on conceptualization , visualization and finalization of the product.
Integration
Architect intricate integration solutions between PolicyCenter and various internal and external systems (e.g., policy administration, billing, CRM, external vendors, document management, data warehouses) using appropriate integration patterns and technologies (APIs, web services, messaging).
Develop and test integration interfaces to ensure data consistency and accuracy across integrated systems.
Perform comprehensive unit testing and develop GUnit tests for custom code, aiming for maximum coverage.
Understand and analyze integration requirements, propose solutions, and estimate effort.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
Collaborate extensively with business analysts to translate complex business requirements into technical designs and architectural specifications.
Present architectural solutions and technical roadmaps to diverse audiences, including technical teams, business stakeholders, and leadership.
Stay updated with the latest Guidewire product releases, features, and industry trends, and recommend their adoption where beneficial.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives in development processes and tools.
Conduct capacity planning and infrastructure sizing for Guidewire PolicyCenter deployments.
Lead knowledge sharing sessions and develop technical assets (e.g., accelerators, white papers) to build organizational Guidewire expertise
Required Skills/Experience:
10-18 years of hands on experience working with Guidewire PolicyCenter
Must be a Guidewire Certified Ace for PolicyCenter Configuration
Minimum of two greenfield PolicyCenter implementation experience.
Experience implementing new LOB’s for personal & commercial lines
Possess an in-depth understanding of the Guidewire platform, its components (UI, Data Model, Studio), out-of-the-box features, and accelerators.
Experience with Gosu, PCF, Entities, Typelists, Apache Camel, RESTful API’s, Bitbucket & IntelliJ
In-depth understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose and address technical problems and ensure the smooth operation of the PolicyCenter application
Flexibility to do shift work as needed (aligning to US colleagues/customers).
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies
BSc in Computer Science or equivalent.
Experience with Guidewire Cloud is preferred.
