WHAT WE NEED

A highly motivated self-starter who will play an essential role in overseeing a variety of custodial tasks to maintain, clean, and preserve buildings and grounds. Will perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish. This role requires a person who can work as part of the sanitation team or independently depending on the needs of the department. This position is for 1st shift (7AM-3:30PM)

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Monitor/Maintain restrooms, Cafeteria, and break areas for cleanliness and supplies. 
• Vacuum office areas and clean all glass. 
• Assist in maintaining and participate in the Baldwin Richardson Foods Recycling Program. 
• Empty garbage containers in common areas and restrooms, ensuring general areas are free of litter or debris. 
• Minor maintenance within office areas including changing light bulbs, hanging wall art, moving desks, and other tasks as required. 
• Monitor building and grounds to ensure a neat and clean presentation and environment. 
• Follow all written and verbal instructions. 
• Ensure all supplies are stored in appropriate areas. 
• May complete grounds maintenance duties such as trimming shrubbery, cultivating flower beds, and removing snow, ice and debris. 
• Maintain tools and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe manner. 
• Ensure security of building during and after completed jobs and report any security violations to management. 
• Report the need for any major repairs to Manager/Supervisor. 
• Report and repair emergency maintenance problems and/or environmental hazards immediately.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

• One year of experience in a Janitorial/Facilities Maintenance role.
• High School Diploma, or equivalent.
• Basic mechanical knowledge (preferred).
• Experience using chemicals/solutions required for deep cleaning processes (preferred).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

• Must have ability to function both inside and outside in all types of weather. 
• Medium to heavy work requiring prolonged or repeated standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and lifting (must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.). 
• Must have experience with hand tools normally used in construction, maintenance, and landscaping. 
• Requires basic knowledge of janitorial procedures. 
• Due to SQF regulations, all employees must be able to fluently read, write, and converse in the English language.
