Overview:

Opportunity to join our Logistics team in an onsite role responsible for documentation, coordination and customer interaction to ensure our products are delivered on time as planned. 

Responsibilities:

Review carrier rates and transit time to ensure on‑time delivery of customer products at the most cost effective price.

 

Responsible for export documentation, communication with forwarders for booking information, mode of shipment and process paperwork after shipment is complete.

 

Coordinate with transportation carriers to update inbound and outbound transit rates.

 

Trace inbound and outbound shipments for customers and the company.  Process claims for damage or loss of shipment.

 

Meet with representatives of transportation carriers to develop better service at the lowest possible cost and resolve problems, or review new carriers for potential service.

 

Assist customers with resolving questions or problems with freight bills.  Audit freight bills.

 

Coordinate with departments throughout the organization to address and resolve inquiries or problems, and to improve shipping efficiency.

 

Work with Sales and Customer service team members to coordinate returns—including coordinating with pre-selected LTL and Parcel partners to pick-up freight from customer and end-user locations.

 

Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.

 

Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.  Maintain departmental housekeeping standards

Qualifications:

Requires four years of high school and six to twelve months of related experience; or a combination of education and experience

 

Requires valid driver's license 

 

Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions, carrier schedules and rate listings, shipping documents, freight bills, etc.  Ability to accurately complete domestic and international shipping documents.  Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one situations to customers, carriers, and other employees of the organization

 

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent

 

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Attention to detail and focus on quality of work products are essential

 

Requires the ability to operate various office equipment to include: computer, keyboard, printer and the related financial software, calculator, telephone, photocopier, fax, etc
