Work Environment:

This position operates in a professional office setting. Standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets will be used following standard office hours.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to join our finance team. This position will focus primarily on entering accounts payable invoices, tracking the progress of approvals, and ensuring timely payments to vendors. The ideal candidate will have strong data entry skills, a keen eye for accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Enter accounts payable invoices into the accounting system with accuracy and timeliness.
• Match invoices to purchase orders and/or receiving documentation, verifying pricing and quantities.
• Monitor the status of invoices to ensure proper approval workflows are completed.
• Maintain an up-to-date log of invoice progress and payment status.
• Communicate with internal departments and vendors to address any invoice or payment issues.
• Maintain organized and accurate AP records, both physical and electronic.
• Support the accounting department with other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree or coursework in Accounting or Finance preferred.
• Previous experience in accounts payable or related accounting role is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (experience with [Insert System] preferred).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with vendors and team members.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to sit for extended periods, perform repetitive data entry tasks, and occasionally lift office supplies up to 20 lbs.

Travel:

This position does not require travel to other Woodgrain locations.
