Your Role
We’re looking for a Data Delivery Lead to build Intermediate Insurance Australia’s (IIA) data capability, ensuring delivery of data that maximises value for the IIA business. You’ll work across Technology & Operations (T&O) and the Business to build data solutions that are aligned to IIA strategies. You’ll use your knowledge and expertise to provide support to Pricing, Reporting, Performance and other business stakeholders to continuously improve data quality, reliability, ownership and utilisation.
In this role, you’ll lead collaboration with T&O to enhance IIA’s data usage and deliver value efficiently. A key part of your role will be shaping the data capability roadmap and ensuring alignment with strategic priorities. You'll also drive the adoption of new data tools and technologies to improve efficiency and foster innovation across the team.
In addition, you’ll be responsible for building SQL and DBT expertise within the team by setting standards and providing mentorship. Ensuring the delivery of high-quality, governed, and scalable data solutions will be essential, alongside maintaining strong stakeholder engagement throughout the process.
This is a permanent role, offering a flexible hybrid work model. We welcome applicants from Gadigal Country (Sydney), Naarm (Melbourne) and Meanjin (Brisbane).
About You
- 7+ years’ experience in data engineering, data modelling and data analysis
- Strong proficiency in DBT and GCP technologies (BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Storage etc.)
- Experience with SQL, Python, and other scripting languages
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with diligence
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science or technical related degree or business equivalent
- Relevant Industry experience and/or qualifications.
- Experience in the intermediated insurance industry is a plus
