St. Cloud Live is an emerging print and digital news publication focused on delivering local news and entertainment to the St. Cloud metro. SUMMARY

The Editor will act as a liaison to the newsroom for overall organizational issues, content initiatives, and execution of content strategy. They will also assist with major company reporting projects, news literacy and public trust efforts, and opinion and editorial advisory oversight. Candidates should live in/around the St. Cloud, MN metro area, and be able to maintain consistent onsite presence at our St. Cloud, MN operation site.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Supervise all aspects of the news operation. 
• Prepare, administer, and operate within the newsroom budget. 
• Approve all newsroom hires and promotions. 
• Review and evaluate work of newsroom staff. 
• Participate in all meetings as part of the management team. 
• Serve on the editorial board. 
• Represent the company in community organization and media functions. 
• Participate in professional activities as appropriate. 

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in appropriate discipline with at least four years newsroom experience.
• Experience in a daily news setting and/or supervisory capacity is strongly preferred. 
• Strong decision-making skills. 
• Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
• Strong interpersonal skills. 
• Ability to work well under deadlines.

Expected compensation for this role is between $60,000 and $70,000/year, based on qualifications and experience.
