Job Summary
The Senior Product Owner is an experienced individual contributor responsible for defining and executing the vision and roadmap for key products within the financial services domain. While not a formal people leader, this role acts as a team lead and mentor to other Product Owners, providing guidance, collaboration, and support in driving product outcomes. The Senior Product Owner ensures alignment with organizational goals and focuses on delivering compliant, high-value, and customer-centric solutions. Partnering closely with stakeholders across the organization, this role bridges business needs and technology execution—translating complex requirements into actionable product strategies, prioritizing initiatives, and ensuring successful delivery from concept through implementation.
Essential Duties:
Define Product Direction: Establish and communicate the vision and roadmap for assigned products, ensuring alignment with company objectives and leveraging data-driven insights to guide decisions.
Collaborate with Stakeholders: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners—including business owners, customers, and development teams—to gather feedback and influence product direction.
Manage Product Backlogs: Oversee and validate backlog prioritization across multiple product areas, ensuring alignment with the overall vision and delivery of customer value.
Measure Outcomes: Monitor progress and performance across product initiatives, using analytics and reporting to inform continuous improvement and optimize value delivery.
Foster Team Collaboration: Encourage communication and alignment among Product Owners and cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive execution and shared accountability.
Identify and Mitigate Risks: Proactively recognize issues that could impact delivery and develop strategic solutions to maintain quality and timelines.
Contribute to Long-Term Planning: Support the development of product roadmaps by incorporating market trends, customer feedback, and emerging technologies to stay competitive.
Promote Continuous Improvement: Champion agile principles, lead retrospectives, and foster a culture of learning and growth across teams to enhance performance and product outcomes.
The ideal candidate with have an advanced level of experience, generally 7+ years, in product management, financial products and agile methodologies, preferably within the finacial services industry.
Certificates & Licenses:Scrum Certified Product Owner (CSPO) | Certified, Scrum Master (CSM), and/or Large Scale Scrum (LeSS) certification highly desired.
Preferred Skills:What we are looking for:
- Knowledge of agile product ownership and leadership
- Ability to mentor junior product owners and foster a collaborative team
- Familiarity with APIs, cloud platforms, and modern software architectures
- Experience with regulatory compliance (e.g., SEC, FINRA)
Compensation: $90,000 - $125,000. This range is a good faith estimate of the compensation to be offered for this position based on the ideal candidate’s qualifications, the Company’s operational needs, and other considerations permitted by law. The actual pay offered to a specific candidate may vary above or below the stated range.
