The Opportunity

The EPP Support Specialist plays a vital role in advancing BranchED’s mission to strengthen the teacher pipeline and meet the evolving needs of PK–12 students. This position collaborates with educator preparation providers, school districts, and community partners to design and implement innovative, equity-centered pathways into teaching. These initiatives include teacher residencies, apprenticeships, and Grow Your Own programs that expand access to and diversity within the educator workforce.

In addition, the EPP Support Specialist provides technical assistance and professional development coaching that helps partners improve programs, design new pathways, and build sustainable systems of support for future teachers.

Key Responsibilities

Planning & Development

  • Build and sustain strong relationships with EPP leaders, faculty, district partners, and other education stakeholders.

  • Facilitate collaboration and sharing of promising practices across ecosystems.

  • Contribute to the scopes of work for special projects and engagements.

Design

  • Create engaging virtual and in-person professional development sessions for EPPs and districts.

  • Develop practical tools, templates, and resources to support program design and continuous improvement.

  • Draft agendas and structures for coaching calls and professional learning events.

Implementation & Coaching

  • Partner with EPPs, districts, and state agencies to implement teacher residencies, apprenticeships, and Grow Your Own initiatives.

  • Provide one-on-one coaching and technical assistance to help partners prioritize and sequence their work.

  • Conduct site visits to assess readiness and capacity for developing new pathways.

  • Support partners in using data and artifacts to document progress, strengthen practice, and demonstrate impact.

  • Deliver clear, concise analyses and insights to BranchED leadership and contribute to reports for external stakeholders.

Team & Organizational Contribution

  • Collaborate as part of a high-performing, mission-driven team.

  • Stay current on national and state trends in educator preparation, accreditation, and nonprofit practice.

  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities and contribute to a culture of innovation, inclusion, and equity.

Qualifications

  • Terminal degree in education or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience teaching in higher education or serving in PK–12 district leadership.

  • Experience working in or with Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs), or strong knowledge of MSI environments with a commitment to learning and supporting them.

  • Demonstrated ability to build authentic, trusting relationships with diverse stakeholders.

  • Skilled problem-solver who can balance big-picture thinking with day-to-day execution.

  • Highly self-directed, resourceful, and able to meet tight deadlines.

  • Flexible and positive team player who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

  • Ability to travel up to 20% annually.
