Position Summary:

The Community Inclusion Manager is responsible for maintaining all aspects of the inclusion contract, educating, coaching and modeling inclusion strategies to out-of-school time programs across Palm Beach County.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage/support Community Inclusion Specialist to meet contract goals
  • Maintain all aspects of contract compliance.
  • Maintain contract budget
  • Complete and submit monthly all essential paperwork/documentation as required by funder and agency.
  • Recruit out-of-school time (OST) programs and practitioners to participate in inclusion coaching and trainings.
  • Facilitate and maintain relationships with participants, parents/guardians and OST program staff and provide inclusion assistance and trainings to Arc team members and volunteers as necessary.
  • Develop implementation strategies that will include assessment of individual skill and needs, instructional needs of the OST team and a schedule of modeling activities and intervention techniques that will help include the individuals with developmental disabilities into an inclusive setting.
  • Develop inclusion trainings based on needs of OST programs and current best practices
  • Provide families, OST team members and the community with information about developmental disabilities.
  • Provide resources to OST programs and other community stakeholders about ways they can successfully include youth and individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Maintain regular communication with OST programs and be available to conduct additional site visit(s) if the need arises.
  • Inform OST program of the youth’s progress while offering goals/activities/materials and support to achieve the goals.
  • Provide inclusion coaching to qualified OST programs during the school year and to programs during the summer months.
  • Market all Arc services to the community as a whole in collaboration with other departments.
  • Maintain the ability to meet the physical requirements of this position as related to duties at all times.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Maintain professional and courteous demeanor.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members, agencies, vendors, donors and funders.
  • Identify concerns, generate and evaluate alternate solutions and make sound recommendations.

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in elementary education and/or special education, and training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to meet the minimum requirements.  
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience with children with intellectual or developmental disabilities required.
  • Must possess and maintain a current Florida’s Driver’s License and state minimum requirements for auto insurance.

 

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: 

  • Ability to kneel, bend, crouch, lift and/or carry equipment. 
  • Driving to OST sites, walking, climbing and/or bending to conduct observations and model inclusion practices for practitioners/directors.
  • Primary working conditions during the school year are typical for an indoor/office environment requiring sitting for an extended period of time; frequent use of computers and standard office equipment.   In the summer, primary working conditions are for an outdoor/active work day.
