The role requires balancing strategic oversight with hands-on support, ensuring that all stakeholders are equipped to meet organizational goals while fostering a cohesive and collaborative environment. As a liaison between People Managers and HR leadership, the People Consultant must prioritize transparent communication, adaptability, and a proactive approach to address emerging challenges effectively. Additionally, success in this position hinges on building trust within diverse teams while championing innovation and continuous improvement in HR processes.
Position Summary:
The People Consultant is a member of the People Services organization within the People Organization. They will be the primary point of contact for People Managers, in addition to managing proactive support to the Puerto Rico workforce as part of the People function. The role will work with the local HR leads in support of building teams that drive BMS’s business priorities; building the BMS culture and becoming an employer of choice; supporting engagement and business continuity; and delivering against our People Strategy.
HR Generalist Accountabilities (80%)
Payroll Processing Specialist (20%)
Manage the monthly Retiree payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee compensation.
Support manager and employee onboarding for the Kronos system, ensuring proper understanding of roles and responsibilities for accurate
time tracking.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and tax-related matters via the ServiceNow case management system
Coordinate with Outsourced Service Provider regarding all policies, programs and processes related to payroll.
Calculate and process payroll adjustments, such as bonuses, commissions, and overtime.
Ensure compliance with payroll laws and regulations, including tax withholdings and reporting requirements.
Collaborate with internal teams to reconcile payroll data and resolve any discrepancies.
Stay updated on changes in payroll regulations and implement necessary adjustments to ensure compliance.
Experience
The starting compensation for this job is a range from $75,000 – $91,300 plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility).
The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and where the job is performed.
Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.

On-site Protocol
BMS has an occupancy structure that determines where an employee is required to conduct their work. This structure includes site-essential, site-by-design, field-based and remote-by-design jobs. The occupancy type that you are assigned is determined by the nature and responsibilities of your role:
Site-essential roles require 100% of shifts onsite at your assigned facility. Site-by-design roles may be eligible for a hybrid work model with at least 50% onsite at your assigned facility. For these roles, onsite presence is considered an essential job function and is critical to collaboration, innovation, productivity, and a positive Company culture.
