Volunteer Position

Students of Colour Members (Positions Below)

The Students of Colour Collective (SoCC) is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for students of color at Queens. Our leadership team works tirelessly to plan and execute impactful events, manage the collective's finances, maintain communication with general members, and ensure that our brand remains consistent across all platforms. We collaborate closely with minority clubs to bring culturally rich events to life, such as our annual culture fashion show expo, where creative visions are transformed into reality. Through strategic planning, meticulous organization, and a shared commitment to diversity, we aim to create a community where all members feel empowered, represented, and connected.

    Applications will close on September 13th at 4PM. 

    Time Commitment

    8 month-term from September 2025 to April 30th, 2026 with a time commitment of 3-4 hours/week.

    Marketing Director

    • Develop and maintain a consistent social media posting schedule. Manage, enhance, and maintain the SoCC brand across all media platforms ensuring consistency both internally and externally. Design promotional materials for all events. 
    • Time Commitment: Approximately 1–2 hours per week.

    Events Director

    • Strategically plan and oversee all SoCC events and initiatives. Coordinate timelines, task assignments, and logistics with Events and Outreach Coordinators. Identify and secure suitable locations or platforms for events and initiatives. 
    • Time Commitment: Approximately 2-3 hours per week.

    Events Coordinator 

    • Support the Events Director in organizing and running events year-round. Coordinate logistics such as supplies, scheduling, volunteer roles, and venue set-up. Collaborate with the Marketing and Outreach teams to ensure cohesive event promotion and attendance. 
    • Time Commitment: Approximately 1–2 hours per week

    Treasurer

    • Maintain accurate financial records, including budgeting and processing transactions.
    • Ensure budgets align with organizational goals and manage reimbursements and payments.

    Logistics/Finance Director

    • Maintain organized records of event logistics, feedback, and planning documentation. Manage the club’s budget and maintain financial records, including income, expenses, and reimbursements. Establish systems for inventory management and resource allocation. Time Commitment: Approximately 1–2 hours per week

    Outreach Coordinator

    • Act as a liaison between SoCC and other minority clubs to secure participation and promote collaboration. Assist with club and community engagement campaigns to increase event attendance. Work closely with Marketing to manage ticket distribution and audience outreach. 
    • Time Commitment: Approximately 1–2 hours per week.

    General Member Coordinator

    • Recruit and manage communication with general members, including updates and event announcements.
    • Handle member inquiries and distribute surveys to improve SoCC operations.
