Job Summary:
Direct contact with assigned vendors: Issue purchase orders, negotiate purchasing agreements with vendors that will include pricing and delivery expectations. Monitor product needs and existing inventories, also monitor timely delivery of products into our distribution center from vendors, and complete final quality inspections of products purchased from vendors. This position will also require collaboration between headquarter staff, field staff, and volunteers.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work within and understand a yearly purchasing budget.
- Negotiates prices, specifications, and terms with vendors as needed.
- Monitors inventories and runs reports to assess needs and act on them.
- Responsible for various and accurate data entries into the internal inventory system.
- Works with NWTF IT on systems that include the preferred vendor program.
- Assist other buying staff with product needs, maintain stock levels, monitor trends, and vendor compliance.
- Assist with convention duties that will include but to limited to working with firearm transactions.
- Ensure all vendors' certificates of insurance are current and up to date.
- Work with legal to ensure purchasing agreements are current and correct before final signatures.
- Must be available after normal business hours to conduct business with vendors in other time zones.
- Must manage time to include time for Research and Development of new products.
- Work with the selection committee and be a sub-committee lead as a subject matter expert.
- Handles special projects and orders as assigned.
- Vendor Account Manager will travel to shows and events as assigned.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
- Experience in Microsoft 365 programs including Word, Excel, Business Central, Shopify and SharePoint; Adobe Acrobat creating and editing.
- Knowledge of accounting practices and supply chain
- Written and verbal negotiating skills
- Must have the ability to work independently, managing vendors and customers.
- 2+ years previous related work experience, preferably in hunting or outdoor industry
- Prioritization and problem solving
- Attend annual NWTF Convention, regional meetings and training opportunities, as necessary.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years procurement experience, preferably in the hunting or outdoor industry.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to sit, stand, and bend for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.

- Position can work remotely subject to in-office work as required.
