Position Description: MI Technical Solutions is seeking an Installation and IT Support Technician to join its team. In this role, the Installation and IT Support Technician is responsible for the installation and sustainment of SCORE technology systems for the US Navy. The Installation and Support Technician will also provide Tier 2 and 3 support for IT systems and associated infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Provide installation support for the system on Barges, Ships, and Navy Activities.
- Assist Ship’s Force with administering the SCORE-SNAIRS System.
- Providing Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
- System installation; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards.
- Configuring and installing various telecommunication and laptop devices and services (e.g., printers, VPN, QoS).
- Conducting testing of systems after software pushes.
- Monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages.
- Coordinating upgrades.
- Performing network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations.
- Aid Ship’s Force in writing trouble tickets related to system.
- Provide Cybersecurity analysis and support.
- Provide technical assistance and solutions to CANES network issues.
- Maintain knowledge of current and upcoming CANES hardware and software versions.
Requirements:
- DoD Secret Clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Software Development, Computer Science, or a related degree, or 4+ year’s work experience in CANES system administration or Navy IT support
- Familiarity with DoD systems and technologies
- Effective writing, speaking, analytical, and customer service skills
- Ability to travel 25% of the time
- Security+ certification
