Middle School Career Development Coordinator (Part-Time)

Location: Serving both district middle schools

 

Asheboro City Schools is seeking a part-time Career Development Coordinator (CDC) to support career awareness and readiness for middle school students. This position plays a vital role in helping students connect their learning to future career opportunities and pathways.

 

The CDC will serve both district middle schools and collaborate closely with teachers, counselors, administrators, and Career and Technical Education (CTE) leadership to plan and deliver career development programming.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Plan and facilitate career development activities for 5th–8th grade students, including classroom sessions, workshops, and events.

  • Support students in completing Career Development Plans, career interest surveys, and course registration activities.

  • Coordinate opportunities for students such as field trips, guest speakers, and other career exploration activities.

  • Work collaboratively with middle school staff, student services, and district CTE leadership.

  • Build partnerships with business, industry, postsecondary institutions, and community organizations.

  • Other duties as assigned in alignment with district career development initiatives.

Qualifications:

CTE License - 747 Career Development Coordinator

Bachelor's Degree

 

Position is expected to cover the current school year, with the possibility of extension based on program needs and funding.
