What you will be doing:

Reporting to the Vice President, Consulting Services, the Consultant, Consulting Services is responsible for conducting analysis, research, client meeting, and managing initiatives to drive client supply chain operations, transformation, and savings. The Consultant will conduct research, collect and analyze hospital and supply chain operations and financial data, analyze problems, recommend creative solutions, and complete project tasks within scope and budget. A consultant should be competent in analyzing problems and recommending creative solutions. This role requires someone who is extremely analytical, has a foundation in data manipulation, and is knowledgeable and familiar with hospital, supply chain, and operational/ financial data sets. Additionally, the Consultant must have the ability to identify issues, communicate effectively with Nexera leadership, work directly with clients to achieve project milestones, and participate in client and internal presentations. Depending on project engagement, the Consultant will lead analysis of supply chain operations, purchasing/contracting/ sourcing, logistics/receiving/distribution/ inventory management, medical and/or data and technology, and work with client end-users and the project team assess, design, and transform supply chain purchasing, contracting, and value analysis approach to operations and savings. Nexera Consultants must have the ability to identify issues, communicate effectively with clients and project teams, problem solve, and drive analytics focused opportunities. Consultants must be proactive, professional, and must have past experience in healthcare and/ or supply chain management. In addition, the Consultant must be extremely analytical and have a foundation in data manipulation, preferably with healthcare product and operations knowledge (physician preference items, medical/ surgical items, logistics, inventory management, , etc.). Key Responsibilities:

Responsibility #1 – 100%

Specific operational knowledge of supply chain within hospitals and health systems (value analysis, sourcing/ contracting, requisitioning, purchasing, receiving, distribution/ receiving, inventory management, data management/ scm technology) with ability to evaluate these functions during client engagement.

  • Uses knowledge of supply chain management, demand to pay process, cost reduction, strategic sourcing, supply chain assessments/diagnostics, contract optimization, technology implementations (procurement, eProcurement, ERP, etc.) and supply chain strategy to identify and achieve project milestones.
  • Specific knowledge of financial improvement methodologies, including, but not limited to revenue generation, cost reduction, and contracting strategies.
  • Creates spreadsheets, presentations and other deliverables using Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project as necessary for client engagement.
  • Uses expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, project management software (e.g., MS Project) and flowcharting software (e.g., Visio) to create client deliverables accurately, with attention to detail, and on time.
  • Manage day-to-day project initiatives and participate in creation of client deliverables.
  • Conduct in-depth research to support data analytics.
  • Lead analysis of business and technical problems and work with a team to develop innovative solutions.
  • Conduct assessments and develop actionable cost reduction strategies and implement lasting solutions.
  • Participates in identifying business and technical problems/ works with team to create innovative solutions.
  • Participates in assessment, design, and implementation activities, which may involve client meetings, observations, data collection and analysis, operational tactical work, etc.
  • Create, participate in, and deliver client presentations.
  • Uses knowledge of supply chain, finance, healthcare, or consulting operations background to assist clients in achieving maximum savings and efficient processes.
  • Works effectively in a winning team environment, building positive client/peer relationships.
  • Identify potential engagement sources and potential add-on opportunities.
  • Assist clients in achieving maximum savings and improve process efficiencies.
  • Work directly with clients to achieve project milestones by participating in client and internal presentations and managing client relationships.
  • Work with Nexera leadership to identify issues and communicate effectively with engagement leaders.
  • Understand and demonstrate best practice financial improvement activities and goals within healthcare.

Required Qualifications

Work Experience:

Years of Applicable Experience - 2 or more years

Education:

High School Diploma or GED (Required)

Skills:

Experience:

  • Four years’ experience in an analytical/financial capacity, with a consulting firm, in healthcare supply chain, healthcare provider supply chain, etc.
  • Fluent proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite i.e.: Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio and Project, Access/SQL experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated capability to lead and show value from their efforts

Education:

  • Bachelors

Working Conditions: Remote

Travel Requirements: Travel 81-100% within the US

Physical Demands: Sedentary: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves remaining stationary most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if movement is required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Premier’s compensation philosophy is to ensure that compensation is reasonable, equitable, and competitive in order to attract and retain talented and highly skilled employees. Premier’s internal salary range for this role is $64,000 - $118,000. Final salary is dependent upon several market factors including, but not limited to, departmental budgets, internal equity, education, unique skills/experience, and geographic location. Premier utilizes a wide-range salary structure to allow base salary flexibility within our ranges.
