POSITION SUMMARY
The Licensing & Risk Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and activities for direct reports to ensure provider files are processed within a timely manner to meet designated start dates. The Licensing & Risk Manager will develop and maintain trusted advisor relationships with Sound Physicians’ Regional Leadership Team. The Licensing & Risk Manager supports the Director of Privileging, Risk Management and Licensing. They are a positive role model and exhibit Sound Physicians’ core values daily.
The Details: This is a full-time, remote position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide daily oversight, direction, support, development pathways and general leadership to direct reports
Monitors and proactively addresses key performance measures to ensure Sound’s outcomes are achieved. Identifies shifts inside the business and proactively works to make changes and quickly implement or act on new ideas
Measures, shares, and works with direct reports to improve results in their respective portfolios while ultimately responsible for overall key performance measures outcomes
Participate in 1:1 meetings and use of development plans, regularly discussing areas of opportunity and leveraging colleagues’ strengths
Holds team accountable to customer-first, high standards of service delivery to their respective stakeholders
Communicates clearly, concisely, and timely during crisis using creativity and adaptability to engage those around them in problem solving, giving clear directions, and fostering teamwork to resolve issues
Inspires followership and instills a desire in the team to bring their best efforts every day
Contributes to the Clinician Services department’s overall goals by bringing expertise, passion, and problem-solving to the management team
Partners with Director on organization and/or department tasks and projects as assigned
Provides central support to Field Administrators during time of transition, including new program acquisitions and attrition
Understands national, state, and market dynamics in the clinician licensing domain; ensures direct reports maintains current knowledge and documentation of specific processes and nuances of their respective portfolios
Continues to improve and develop modern clinician licensure processes and workflows
Continuously evaluates processes to ensure Sound has the best-in-class clinician experience that offers efficient, high-quality, and seamless clinician licensing
Collaborates with Product Engagement Specialist to define and implement process and workflow improvements
Reviews and reports results from monthly licensing file audits to evaluate controls and compliance guidelines are met in the clinician licensure process. Works with the business to raise and address trends from audits
Defines and creates data, analytics, and reporting that support team’s ability to identify files off track in their respective portfolios, enabling the team to intervene and mitigate delayed clinician starts
Proactively maintains and monitors accurate department reporting and gathers key analytics to understand trends in portfolio
Builds and maintains strategic relationships with Sound stakeholders to understand feedback about the clinician licensing process and ensure it is working as designed to support the medical group
Serves as peer mentor and/or coach to Managers and/or members of the Sound team, providing one-on-one training, as we all as in-person/virtual development training sessions
Manages team resources, such as capacity, G&A and credit card expenses, to ensure appropriate allocation of resources and financial responsibility
Skilled at managing multiple, conflicting demands, ensuring timely and successful execution of critical initiatives
Positively project the values and goals of Sound Physicians with sophistication and maturity required to build credibility with Sound Physicians employees/clients and physicians with whom we interact

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- 3+ years of progressive experience in the health services industry, including direct involvement in medical licensing, hospital privileging or Medical Staff Office or Verification services. Equivalent experience in related roles will also be considered; and cross-functional leadership and management experience in a high-growth startup and/or healthcare systems
Compensation Range
This position offers an annual salary range of $75,000 - $90,000, plus bonus opportunity. Exact salary will depend on the candidate’s experience, education and geographic location.
