What will you be doing in this role?
The Registered Dietitian is responsible for assessment, evaluation, planning, and monitoring of nutrition provision. Collaborates with the patient, family/caregiver, physician, nurses and other allied health care professionals, food service and the department leadership in the provision of care. The Dietitian develops resources to support practice or departmental needs. Adheres to the established Standards of Practice in Nutrition Care and Standards of Professional Performance for Registered Dietitians as applicable to the clinical setting. Adheres to the ADA code of ethics for the profession of dietetics.
- Conducts and implements nutritional assessments by collaborating with patient/ client and facilitates to assess needs, resources, and to establish mutual nutrition related goals.
- Communicates nutrition recommendations effectively to medical staff and care team in rounds and in interdisciplinary care meetings. Documents information in the medical record.
- Evaluates patients' nutritional related education needs. Provides education and documents in the medical record. Develops and/or revises patient educational materials and other resources to support clinical practice in conjunction with peers and management.
- Collaborates with other professionals in developing and follow-up on the plan of care per policy.
- In conjunction with management, implements quality practice by studying, and following, policies and procedures and practice guidelines. Contributes to continuous quality improvement and takes initiative on quality improvement issues.
- Effectively applies, participates in or generates research to enhance practice. Reviews research and reports findings for their application to dietetics practice and bases practice on sound scientific principles, research and theory. Collects data and documents outcomes within the practice setting.
- Systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of practice and revises practice as needed to incorporate the results of evaluation.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition or related field, Dietetic internship or equivalent clinical training as specified by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
- Master's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition or related field, Dietetic internship or equivalent clinical training as specified by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics preferred
- One year Experience as a clinical dietitian in an acute environment preferred.
- Certification as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission of Dietetic Registration required.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Is knowledgeable of and follows all legislation and licensure requirements. Complies with all medical center and division policies and procedures.
