As a Project Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting our audit and assurance practice, ensuring projects are executed with precision, timeliness, and quality. Reporting directly to the Managing Partner and the Director of Quality Control, you will help drive initiatives that enhance audit quality, strengthen quality-control management, and optimize project execution across multi-location engagements.
Reporting to the Managing Partner and Director of Quality Controls, this role is instrumental in helping the firm accelerate our efforts in amplifying Audit Quality and Quality control management.
Key Responsibilities
- Audit Project Oversight: Manage audits across multiple jurisdictions and deadlines, monitoring progress, balancing priorities, and assessing impacts on budgets, timelines, and risk using appropriate analytics.
- Strategic Planning: Partner with the Managing Partner and leadership team to coordinate annual project planning, while collaborating with HR, Finance, Operations, and client service teams to maintain accurate forecasts and projections.
- Resource Management: Partner with engagement partners, managing partner, etc. to Identify and allocate resources (tools, staffing, solutions) to meet engagement demands and resolve challenges, ensuring seamless workflow and project delivery.
- Financial Oversight: Review weekly and monthly budget-to-actual reports, ensuring staff allocations and service delivery align with client engagement terms. Both financial and time based budgets.
- Client Engagement Support: Liaise with Finance and Operations to ensure client onboarding is executed smoothly (e.g., engagement letters, expense codes, client dashboards), and provide timely reporting to client teams.
- Compliance & Standards: Oversee independent confirmations, CPE tracking, and compliance with state licensure and professional standards alongside HR.
- Process Improvement: Actively identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve efficiency through automation or enhanced project management practices.
- Third-Party Coordination: Support relationships with external consultants, attorneys, and outsourcing partners to facilitate secure information-sharing and project delivery.
- Quality & Delivery: Manage project scope, budget, and timelines while upholding the highest standards of audit quality and client service.
- Continuous Improvement: Promote best practices in project management, recommending refinements to processes and methodologies.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: 5–8 years of progressive project management experience, ideally within a CPA firm, accounting, or professional services environment.
- Certification: Project Management Professional (PMP) or comparable certification strongly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in project management tools, analytics platforms, and collaboration software. Familiarity with audit and assurance processes a plus.
- Global Mindset: Experience working across international markets or with cross-border teams preferred. Mandarin proficiency is a plus but not required.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and engage with clients as needed.
- Advanced analytical abilities to interpret financial, operational, and compliance data for decision-making.
