JOB TITLE: Tribal Justice Program Coordinator                                DEPARTMENT: Tribal Justice

REPORTS TO: Tribal Justice Program Manager                                 POSITION STATUS: Full-time

JOB Grade: 5                                                                                              APPROVED: August 2025


SUMMARY: The Tribal Justice Program Coordinator provides direct support to AVCP’s 56 member tribes to develop or enhance their tribal court capacity under the direction of the Program Manager. This position will track services provided across the department, manage requests for Tribal Court assessments and funding requests, provide comprehensive support for training services, and overall administrative support for the Tribal Justice Department.


PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

     - Assist tribes with tracking and completing requests for tribal court assessments and annual tribal court funding.

     - Comprehensive support for Tribal Justice training events including reserving space, planning, coordinating, booking travel, advertising, tracking registration, and compiling materials.

      - Ensures and tracks all requests, purchases, and payments for the Tribal Justice department and/or Tribal Courts including one-time small funding for Tribal Courts.

      - Complete regular and accurate data entry including communications with Tribes, agencies, documentation of assistance, trainings, or other program activities.

      - Support routine technical assistance requests, provide documents, and follow up as necessary with Tribes.

       - Basic office management.

      - Maintain strict confidentiality.

Requirements

  QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Must have strong written and verbal skills. Strong interpersonal skills are required. Must be willing to travel as needed including travel to rural villages. Familiarity with cultural and traditional and rural community lifestyle is preferred. Fluency in speaking Yup’ik/Cup’ik language is strongly preferred.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A high school diploma is required, a bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred. One year of work experience is preferred. Will train the right applicant with the opportunity for growth. Must have experience with basic computer skills including the Microsoft office suite.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION: Preferred to have an individual with a valid driver’s license and clear driving record.
