SUMMARY:

Assists in developing and administering an enjoyable golf experience for all Members and Guests by performing the following duties.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: 

In addition to the following duties and responsibilities, playing golf with Members and working on your game is essential.

  • Assist the Head Golf Professional and First Assistant Golf Professional in all golf related areas as needed.
  • Help to maintain and create a comfortable, enjoyable, and remarkable golf shop experience for all members and guests.
  • Assist fellow staff with receiving, merchandising, and inventory of all golf shop merchandise.
  • Develop and implement new ideas to support the golf operation including analysis of inventory, vendor selection, and daily operations.
  • Coordinate, assist, and run Member golf tournaments including the Men’s Golf Association, 18-Hole Ladies, 9-Hole Ladies, and other major events.
  • Work with staff to assist in preparation and implementation of Conference Group play.
  • Supervise the high standards of operation in all facilities, including customer service levels, along with appearance and cleanliness for all reporting staff and facilities.
  • Operate a computerized POS system.
  • Help assist members and guests schedule tee times.
  • Assist Members with GHIN handicap transmitting and score posting.
  • Sufficient knowledge of the USGA Rules of Golf so one can serve as a Rules official in club tournaments.
  • Assist Head Teaching Professional with junior camps and clinics.
  • Have a knowledge of club repair services including regripping clubs, measuring a clubs loft/lie, shortening and lengthening clubs and re-shafting. 
  • Serve as Outside Service Manager and perform all duties when necessary
  • Assist with all outside services including cleanliness of the golf carts, bag storage and retrieval, starting, rangering, cleaning member and guests clubs, and manage a well-maintained practice facility.

• Excellent communication and organizing skills 

• Knowledgeable about computers and their role in the golf business

• Demonstrate progress through PGA Golf Professional Training Program

• Passed PGA playing ability test


Education and/or Experience: 

A four-year College degree and one to three years' experience with a quality facility preferred. 


Language: 

Must be able to comprehend the English language in order to communicate with all Members, Guests and Associates.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Working toward PGA membership. Candidate has successfully completed the PGA Playing Ability Test.

Attendance, Appearance and Conduct: 

Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Ocean Reef Club from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Associates with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.


Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry and report deadlines, associate may be required to work varying schedules to meet the business needs of the Club and report deadlines.


Proper grooming is required by all associates and is described in detail in the Associates Handbook. Associates should review this policy and make sure that at all times they present themselves for shifts looking clean, neat and professional.  


As a condition of employment, all associates agree to fully comply with Ocean Reef Club rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of Club facilities. Associates who violate Club rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
