SUMMARY:   Responsible for the development andimplementation of appropriate curriculum for each childassigned to        her/him.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include thefollowing.  Other duties may be assigned.

 

Essential Duties anResponsibilities: 

 

  • Write and implement daily instructional lesson plans according to curricular objectives, including     

       programming for independent work activities. Works with other professional staff as appropriate to  

       coordinate planning.

  • Establish and implement goals for each child. 
  • Conductcontinual evaluation of students’ progress including pre and post testing andsemi-annual formal assessment.
  • Createand implement behavior management plans as necessary.
  • Meetwith parents to gather information for the development of children’s individualgoals and to report progress.
  • Collaborateeffectively with Classroom Assistant, ensuring s/he is given full informationon students to provide quality teaching and care.
  • SuperviseClassroom Assistant by providing mentoring and training, monitoring workquality, providing feedback, immediately addressing all deficiencies, and conductingannual performance reviews.
  • Activelysupervise children during recess, naps, and meals.
  • Knowand implement all SFCC policies and procedures, NAC Accreditation Standards andWI licensing rules for group childcare centers.
  • Attendand participate in team meetings, staff meetings, and staffing, when possible,to offer suggestions, observations, and ideas regarding program or individualchild needs. Lead department meetings as needed
  • Maintaina clean, neat and stimulating classroom space.
  • Planand facilitate field trips
  • Participatein school-related evening activities.
  • Developand maintain all written documentation required for the role includingclassroom newsletters, lesson plans and daily schedules.
  • Maintainnecessary Teaching Credential and complete all required continuing education inEarly Childhood/Special Education.  
  • Activelyparticipate in mandatory SFCC training sessions.
  • Providein-class observation/discussion opportunities for visitors as requested.
  • Reportany cases of suspected child abuse and neglect.
  • Performother duties as requested or assigned.

  

 

Education/Experience:

 

  • Associate's degree in earlychildhood or special education from an accredited college required; bachelor'sdegree is preferred.
  • DPI license required.
  • 2-3 years of ECE experience preferred.

 

LanguageSkills:

  • Ability to write concise and informative policy reports. 
  • Ability to effectively presentinformation and respond to questions from Board members, members of theleadership team, and customers.
  • Regularly, prepare and deliver presentations. 
  • Ability to create effective workingrelationships with staff, vendors, customers, and Board of Director members.

Reasoning Ability/Mental Requirements:

  • Mustbe able to cope with routine changes to accommodate the school's needs.
  • Mustbe able to handle multiple tasks at a time.
  •   Must be able to continually interact withco-workers, parents, and children in a positive manner.
