Summary of Role/Position

The Warehouse Team Lead plays a key role in daily operations by overseeing assigned departments, ensuring safety and productivity, and coaching team members to achieve performance goals. This position requires leadership experience in a fast-paced warehouse environment, with the ability to balance operational needs with employee development. 

The Team Lead works under the direction of Operations leadership but exercises independent judgment to solve problems, drive results, and foster a positive team culture. 

YOU WILL:

  • Monitor workflow and department functions; identify and recommend solutions to improve efficiency.
  • Provide daily direction, coaching, mentoring, and motivation to improve team performance.
  • Lead by example and ensure safety and operational procedures are consistently followed.
  • Conduct performance check-ins, identifying skill gaps and assisting team members in building development plans.
  • Collaborate with Supervisors, HR, and Learning & Development to address performance, culture, and training needs.
  • Participate in creating and implementing operating procedures for efficiency and quality improvement.
  • Communicate goals, expectations, and updates during shift stand-ups and team meetings.
  • Recognize top performers and provide corrective coaching where needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of warehouse operations.

YOU MUST HAVE: 

  • 1–2 years of previous leadership experience in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution center environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (education and experience may be substituted).
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse safety practices, processes, and productivity metrics (KPA/KPI monitoring).
  • Ability to lead and influence others effectively, with proven experience in coaching and performance management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and initiative to drive improvements.
  • PC literacy (Microsoft Office, WMS knowledge preferred).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and focus.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends as needed to support operational needs.
