The applicant hired for this position would serve as a substitute, as needed in the absence of the PARED Faculty, at Shoreline Cooperative Preschool. This position may provide instruction in the classroom laboratory, in a lecture format, and in classes for children. The instructor hired would substitute for any of the following classes:Class Name | Ages | Times | Days of the Week |

Faculty at Shoreline will have an array of students from differing programs in their classroom, including professional technical and university transfers. Shoreline seeks a candidate that can identify and mitigate the barriers to success that many students face and be passionate about creating an equitable learning environment that supports success for all students.
Position Duties
Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Early Childhood Education or a related field (e.g., special education, education, human development, family studies, language development, or psychology)
- Demonstrated classroom experience with early childhood education theories and practices, including multicultural and inclusive practices
- Current CPR and First Aid training OR the ability to obtain within 30 days of employment
- Ability to pass a Washington State Patrol Criminal History Check
- Ability to attend Blood Borne Pathogen training within 30 days of employment
- Microsoft Office programs, learning management systems and other appropriate instructional technology
- Community resources and referral centers
Skill in:
- Effective oral/written communication with individuals at all levels inside and outside the College
- Fostering a climate of equity and belonging through multicultural awareness and responsiveness
- Adapting to a variety of teaching situations with students from diverse backgrounds/abilities
- Working and interacting effectively with colleagues, staff, students, administrators and others of various cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
Minimum Qualifications
Physical Work Environment:
Work is usually performed in an active early childhood setting. It requires standing, both indoors and outdoors, and on field trips. Knowledge and use of computers for class lists, email correspondence, and other information is important.
Terms of Employment & Salary:
- This is a part-time, non-tenured, quarter-to-quarter assignment.
- Salary placement is determined by the number of qualifying years of teaching/work experience combined with educational preparation.
- Hiring of this position is contingent upon available funding as determined by the College President.
