Position Summary
Provide leadership and guidance for extracurricular activities that fall outside of the realm of the normal curriculum of school and athletics. These activities will likely exist in the formation of after school clubs.
Duties & Responsibilities
Accurately and enthusiastically represent and support the mission of the school.
Lead a well-organized program that is a model of excellence.
Maintain an open line of communication with the Headmaster regarding any issues.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with the students, faculty, staff and parents.
Be proactive regarding academics. Leverage influence with students to inspire athletes to give their best in the classroom. Openly advocate for academic excellence.
Be a model of appropriate language and behavior.
Promote at all times a safe environment conducive to the well-being of all students.
Coach individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the extra-curricular activity.
Plan and schedule a regular meeting schedule or activities during the academic year.
Advise students on proper techniques for using equipment, supplies, and materials.
Chaperone students in attendance at activities or events where directly involved.
Work, whenever appropriate, with other school personnel to promote the best interests of each of student participant.
Qualifications, Competencies & Strengths
Education: Some college coursework preferred.
Experience: Previous extra-curricular coaching experience preferred.
Type of fingerprint clearance: Must possess a valid Arizona Department of Public Safety IVP fingerprint clearance card.
Physical functions:
May be required to move or position equipment up to 10-30 pounds.
Work Environment:
May be exposed to outdoor weather.
Equipment used:
Moderate computer use expected.
Travel required:
Must have the ability to travel locally to the various academies within the Phoenix metro area.
Ability to be flexible to accommodate after-hour and weekend activities.
