The Purpose:
We’re looking for a Paint Prepper to support our fabrication team in Denver. As our Paint Prepper, you will prepare exhibit components for paint and finish work. This hands-on role is essential to delivering high-quality surfaces that meet our creative standards. We’re fast-paced, detail-driven, and always building something new.
The Job:
- Ability to degrease, remove dirt, old paint, or rust from surfaces in preparation for paint application. May include sanding, cleaning, and media blasting as needed.
- Mask surfaces or parts with tape or paper to protect them from being coated. Fill seams and dents with putty and fiberglass to attain a smooth surface.
- Ability to mix primer and apply it to the repaired surface.
- Operates spray gun to direct spray onto work surface to apply primer.
- Cleans spraying equipment and maintains a clean and orderly work area.
- Produces a high level of output and monitors own work to ensure quality.
- Possesses good time management skills to complete the job at hand on time.
- Complies with all safety guidelines and procedures, as well as company policies.
- Must be a team player, able to work with others and take direction.
This is a full-time position with days and hours of work from Monday through Friday, 6am to 4:30pm (subject to change). The position is subject to mandatory overtime during peak season, with the possibility of working upwards of 12 hours per day, including weekends.
The Person:
- Experience in sanding, masking, or finish prep (scenic, exhibit, or automotive a plus)
- Comfortable using hand tools and power sanders
- Detail-oriented with strong work ethic
- Able to take direction and work well in a fast-paced team environment
- Physically able to lift materials and stand for extended periods
Colorado Salary and Benefit Statement:
The salary range displayed is specifically for those potential hires who will work or reside in the state of Colorado if selected for the role. Any salary offered is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data/ranges, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience.
Colorado Salary Range: $20-$24/hour
This position is eligible for health care benefits, life insurance, time off benefits and participation in the Company's 401(k) plan.
