9pm to 8am Sunday to Friday
£18-20 per hour + Bonuses
An exciting opportunity for a dedicated and proactive Blade Sharpening Technician to join our Production team at Barfoots.
As a Blade Sharpening Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of blade sets with a keen attention to detail. You will liaise with the production team to ensure that all the blade sets are performing at their optimum level, adjusting, replacing and sharpening as required, to ensure optimum cut and yield on the production line.
You will play a critical role in assisting the production team to achieve targets and maintain the highest standards of quality and efficiency through our Summer Season. With strong organisational and problem solving skills, the Blade Sharpening Technician will provide a balanced and structured approach, whilst maintaining focus on continuous improvement at every level.
All training will be provided where necessary.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure that the spare blade sets are always prepared and ready to be exchanged on the Production line
- Work with the line leader to ensure the blade sets are performing the optimum cut at all times to maximise yield
- Ensure that the exchange of blade sets is carried out in an optimised manner to minimise line downtime
- Ensure that the blade sets are stored in an optimal manner and are handled safely at all times
- Identifying and resolving any production line issues that may arise
- Working closely with engineering team to ensure efficient problem resolution
- Working collaboratively with the production team to meet production targets
- Adhering to health and safety regulations and maintaining a safe working environment
Requirements
Requirements
- Prior experience in a similar FMCG/Food Manufacturing environment
- Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to perform routine maintenance tasks
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow processes and procedures
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Basic computer literacy
- Flexibility to work shifts as required
- Be able to think, communicate and present information effectively
