Hybrid Tax Manager (Domestic) presso Del Monte Fresh Produce Co.

Purpose of Position

This position will assist the VP of Tax and Tax Director with U.S. tax compliance, planning, accounting for income taxes under ASC 740, and SOX compliance.   

Responsibilities

• Assist in reviewing and ensuring accurate & timely corporate income tax compliance with federal, state and local tax authorities for Del Monte Fresh Produce Co. & Subs.      
• Assist in reviewing and ensuring accurate and timely corporate compliance with state and local taxing authorities for sales and use, franchise, property and local taxes for Del Monte Fresh Produce Co. & Subs.
• Assist in preparation of quarterly and annual domestic income tax provision under ASC 740.
• Assist in calculating and making timely corporate estimated income tax payments for federal, state and local taxing authorities.                     
• Assist in gathering of information necessary for outsourced tax consulting engagements, including projects aimed at obtaining tax savings & increasing cash flow.
• Perform tax research for corporate planning purposes & for the determination of income, sales & use, property & other tax compliance requirements.
• Respond to notices from tax authorities and act as key liaison with state revenue agents for state tax audits, including assisting in documentation gathering process, responding to inquiries & other communications.
• Maintenance and organization of documents and record retention for tax authorities and SOX compliance.
• Maintain and update tax calendar to ensure all tax return filing obligations and tax payment obligations are met timely.
• Supervise and mentor tax analysts

Minimum Skills Required

• 5 or more years tax related experience at a (Big 4) public accounting firm or a large corporation
• Masters in Tax
• Great understanding of financial accounting principles and US federal, state and local income tax laws and regulations
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook, etc.).
• Excellent communication, mentoring, organizational, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with tax software applications and tax research tools

 Preferred but not Essential

• Certified Public Accountant
