NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA.
We are looking for a part time 2nd Shift (2:30 pm – 10:30 pm) Sanitation Lead to oversee sanitation personnel in related duties and other various general labor tasks for assigned area. Ensures conformance to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s). This role will be responsible for supporting the review, understanding and compliance of all programs, policies and procedures contained in the Food Safety and Quality Management System at our Northwest Packing plant in Vancouver, WA. This is a part-time position (full-time during pack season, July – November, and when running production off season; part-time the rest of the year).

Key Responsibilities:
- Always Promote Food Safety Culture as a priority in all situations through conversations, communications and actions.
- Leads, mentors and trains all associates under their supervision.
- Follows and ensures that the personnel under the direction of the Sanitation Lead conform to all plant GMP requirements and wear all required personal protective gear for the tasks they will perform.
- Manages the breaks of associates, under his/her supervision, in a timely manner.
- Responsible for maintaining all required SSOP/GMP/Food Safety related documentation and logs daily.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of sanitation methods, practices, and chemicals used for food manufacturing facility sanitation and ability to effectively train personnel in sanitation and chemical requirements.
- Knowledge in sanitation and other plant equipment e.g. janitorial and sanitation supplies, tools and equipment, high pressure water hoses, portable chemical spray tanks, portable high pressure system ladder, floor scrubber, and man-lift.
- Good verbal and written English communication skills; Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Good mathematics skills and ability to effectively prioritize competing priorities and tasks.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and work extended hours and weekends during the fresh pack season, typically July to November.
Compensation:
The hourly union wage is $23.80, plus a 2nd shift differential of $.50.
