Hybrid Custodian - Maintenance (Full-Time) Lihue Kauai presso Hawaiian Building Maintenance

We are looking to hire a highly motivated individual, dependable, trustworthy, good customer service and detail-oriented to join Hawaiian Building Maintenance (HBM). The full-time Custodian is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and repairs of the building based on assigned cleaning duties located at a retail center located in Lihue, HI 96766. Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain a high standard of maintenance duties: painting, removing, installing, and repairing tiles, basic electrical tasks: replacing light bulbs, replacing fixtures, replacing batteries in soap dispensers and faucets, various carpentry duties, basic plumbing, setting up for functions and events, breaking down after events. 
• Report safety issues or building problems (i.e. burnt light bulbs, etc.)
• Notify appropriate HBM employee of the supplies and equipment that are needed for cleaning duties.
• Able to drive a golf cart
• Able to climb a ladder to reach higher surfaces and to access the roof to clean the area
• Clean, sweep, mop, dust common areas
• Restock cleaning supplies
• Multi-task, work efficiently both independently and as a team
• Follow safety procedures
• Uphold a high standard of professionalism and customer service at all times 
• Communicate effectively with supervisor and co-workers
• Ability to stand and work in the hot weather
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday 6am to 2:30 pm

Compensation: $20.60/per hour

Skills/Qualifications:

• Must pass background check
• High school diploma/GED preferred
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English
• Must have good public relations skills and communication
• Previous custodian, maintenance experience, general construction field or related experience is preferred
• Applicants must perform basic manual labor, clean common areas, frequently lift, push, pull, carry a minimum of 30lbs (up to 50lbs), be able to reach overhead, grasp objects, bend, kneel, crawl, squat, climb, stretch, walk, and stand throughout their shifts.
