Senior Property Accountant

💵 $80,000 – $90,000 (Full-Time & On-site)

We are a dynamic and growing commercial real estate company headquartered in Charlotte, NC, with multiple entities and a diverse retail portfolio. We’re seeking a Senior Property Accountant with strong experience in retail property accounting to join our collaborative onsite team. This position plays a critical role in the day-to-day and monthly financial operations of our real estate assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of commercial retail properties
• Process tenant rent collections, post mortgage payments, and record related transactions
• Manage monthly property distributions (particularly intensive during the second half of the month)
• Handle sales tax filings for select Florida properties (phasing out October)
• Route and approve property-level invoices
• Assist with the preparation of annual property budgets
• Complete CAM reconciliations and tenant billing
• Work closely with asset managers and property teams on larger and complex properties
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting across multiple entities

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of accounting experience, specifically in commercial real estate – retail required
• Proficient in CAM reconciliations and tenant accounting
• Strong working knowledge of Yardi
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Experience working in smaller or mid-sized firms (not large corporate structures)
• Highly organized self-starter who can manage multiple priorities independently
