Job Purpose
The Value Stream Leader supports all aspects regarding Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Team (SQDCT) of the assigned production area. The Operation Supervisor will lead, coach, and influence all direct employees affiliated with the assigned production area. This position will interact with the other technical Supervisors, Project Engineers, Program Managers, Contracts, and Quality in carrying out duties and responsibilities and will interface with the Customer as needed.

- Put Safety first at all times, never compromise on safety for the obtainment of other objectives. Responsible for health and safety of themselves and coworkers.
- Ensures operational goals are met in the areas of Safety, Quality Delivery, Cost, and Team (SQDCT).
- Responsible for inventory, cycle counts, WIP accuracy, and material accuracy.
- Forecast operational needs weeks to months in advance. Identify issues and be able to build a recovery plan.
- Drive accountability with leads and techs to assure build plan and safety stocks are met.
- Support and lead continuous improvements in the areas of SQDCT. Responsible for Board / Communication updates.
- Observe, support, & contribute to Company safety programs, policies & initiatives. Implement and continually monitor safe work practices in areas of responsibility. Conduct required safety & environmental audits, 5S audits, JHA assessments, identify hazards, and assure that all other employees follow safe work practices. Accident investigations as well as RCCAs.
- Working supervisor with some time delegated to administrative duties.
- Track and forecast daily / weekly / monthly production, give updates daily and identify problems.
- Ensure the flow of subcomponents through the cell “ bottle necks”
- Schedule Attainment with outside support operations, i.e. Weaving, Molding, Machining, Quality, Shipping, etc.)
- Write MRs as well as work with Engineers to clear parts from MR as needed.
- Observe, support & contribute to company safety programs, policies & initiatives
- Provide work direction to workers assigned to the work cell, coordinate vacation and lunch/break coverage, obtain overtime coverage as approved
- Troubleshoot and assist in solving production problems utilizing root causes analysis tools as appropriate
- Coordinate and provide training of Technicians. This also includes interviewing of potential candidates.
- Contribute to process improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
- Housekeeping and organization (5S) of the work cell
- Raw materials & general supplies needed are present at each work station and surplus materials are properly stored. Responsible for creating purchase requisition and staying within budgets.
- Ensure proper completion of production and traceability documentation is present at all work stations
- Set-up and operate key equipment in work cell. Help in establishing, implementing, and sustaining; TPM (Total Productive Maintenance)
- SAP transactions including but not limited to; Migo, Co11N, MMBE, MD04
- Troubleshoot and assist in solving inventory issues; Halb/ ROH counts, min/ max materials, variance reports
- Provide input in quarterly review process
- Follow Leader Standard Work
- Lead Start-up Meeting (Tier 1) when needed,
- Ensure proper procedures are followed during: Safety Incidents, Evacuation, Inclement Weather
