The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Manager, Medical Affairs to join and help lead our Medical Affairs service line. This role is ideal for a seasoned medical affairs professional with strong scientific acumen, strategic leadership experience, and a passion for building client relationships and high-performing teams. As Senior Manager, you’ll drive key strategic accounts, mentor and grow a multidisciplinary team, and help shape the future of our scientific communications offering.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as strategic lead on key client accounts, providing scientific oversight and guidance across a range of therapeutic areas and deliverables
- Build, mentor, and lead a growing team of medical writers, analysts, managers, and scientific communicators, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration
- Drive scientific and editorial quality, ensuring all content meets the highest standards for accuracy, relevance, and impact
- Oversee and guide development of high-value content (e.g., medical education, training, publications, scientific platforms, congress materials)
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders including Project Management, Analytics, and Strategy to deliver integrated, client-focused solutions
- Contribute to business development through proposal development, pitching, and expanding existing client relationships
- Provide strategic input into service line growth, innovation, and operational effectiveness, identifying opportunities to evolve our offerings
- Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and evolving client needs in the Medical Affairs space
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, proactively identifying opportunities to address their strategic objectives and unmet needs
- Contribute to internal initiatives that drive quality, efficiency, and innovation across the Medical Affairs service line
What We’re Looking For
- Advanced degree in life sciences (PhD, PharmD, or MSc required)
- 7+ years of experience in medical communications, scientific affairs, or related roles in pharma, biotech, or consulting
- Comfort navigating ambiguity and leading teams through evolving client needs and priorities
- A strong sense of ownership and accountability for both project outcomes and client satisfaction
- Proven leadership experience, including direct team management, strategic client leadership, and scientific oversight
- Strong business acumen and a track record of growing client relationships and identifying new opportunities
- Experience managing complex, multi-stream projects and working with cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- A collaborative, proactive leader who leads with integrity, curiosity, and vision
