RegularThe Senior IT Systems Administrator will be responsible for maintaining, supporting, and optimizing Essex’s server infrastructure, including both on-premises and cloud environments. The role will focus on the daily operations, reliability, and technical support of Essex’s servers – both self-hosted and cloud-based servers, as well as workstations. Core responsibilities include the installation, configuration, maintenance and updating of the server-based software and hardware, Enterprise Applications, Active Directory management, Intune, cloud platforms (AWS and Azure), Cisco Meraki and the IAM/SSO platform.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Maintain and support production, development, and test environments across Windows Server, Azure and AWS platforms.
Monitor system performance and usage using standard tools and proactively address alerts
Apply patches and updates to servers and workstations in accordance with change control procedures
Manage Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, and OU structures
Administer and troubleshoot Cisco Meraki networks (switches, firewalls, wireless).
Support Enterprise Applications and collaboration platforms, including O365 Exchange Online, SharePoint, Intune, Zoom, and OKTA.
Resolve problems independently with minimal oversight. When needed escalate complex issues in a timely and appropriate manner.
Maintain system documentation, including configurations, procedures, and licensing.
Coordinate and test system updates in lower environments before production rollout.
Support IAM/SSO administration and user lifecycle tasks.
Participate in Change Management and follow internal procedures.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university is required.
2-3+ years of experience as an IT Systems Administrator in an enterprise-level environment, preferably with AWS and Microsoft Azure IaaS technologies.
Hands-on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure, AWS, Office 365, PowerShell scripting, Cisco Meraki, HP hardware.
Understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and monitoring tools.
Exposure to VMware, Exchange, SQL Server, SharePoint, SAN/NAS is a plus.
WHAT THE JOB REQUIRES:
Work is primarily conducted in an office setting. Requires sitting at a desk or workstation for extended periods. Involves the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers.
Requires the ability to work Mondays through Fridays. The position includes in-person work requirements consistent with the hybrid policy located at Essex's corporate office in San Mateo or Irvine. The hybrid policy is subject to change at Essex’s sole discretion.
Requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Minimal physical effort in the day-to-day tasks.
Occasional travel is required to various offices and data centers.

The pay range for this position is $88,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year. New hires generally start between $88,000.00 - $106,000.00 per year. The final salary offer will be determined after reviewing relevant factors, including but not limited to skill sets; relevant experience; internal equity; and other business and organizational needs.This role is also eligible to participate in Essex’s discretionary Annual Bonus program that is commensurate with the level of the position.
