Position details: full-time Monday to Friday, day shift 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Will work variable weekends, only when needed.
Position will support multiple locations and will be required to travel to Taylor, Trenton, Wayne, Corewell Health Service Center, Commons Dearborn and Center for Exceptional Families in Dearborn.
Minimum rate starts at $18.66/hour.
Job Summary
Responsible for effectively and efficiently guiding new volunteers through the on-boarding process. Coordinates the gathering of all required documentation and follows up on the completion of all on-boarding activities. Coordinates new volunteer data entry with Samaritan. Follows up with new volunteers and assists them with assimilation into the organization.
Essential Functions
- Partner with departments and Volunteer Services staff to efficiently initiate the on-onboarding process for candidates that have accepted volunteer position.
- Initiates contact with new volunteers to welcome them to the organization. Clearly outlines what the steps are in the on-boarding process, advises of required documentation and ensures understanding. Provides formal placement letter.
- Assures all required documentation (references, background checks, health screenings, education modules, and orientation attendance), is completed and enters the data into the system.
- Requests appropriate access for new volunteers dependent on their position (ie. Epic, security, etc.)
- Follows up with new volunteers after their start date. Serves as a resource to new volunteers to ensure they have access to the information they need.
- Manages daily operations of the volunteer office including answering phones, scheduling appointments, coordinating office volunteers, greeting and assisting volunteers and others entering the office, scheduling meetings and reserving rooms.
- Processes all volunteer transfers and terminations.
- Orders supplies and keeps updated volunteer schedules.
- Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures where appropriate and completes all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on a timely basis.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of relevant experience
Preferred
- Experience in billing, knowledge of insurance payment methodologies or revenue cycle is a plus.
