About the job

Does the prospect of creating and leading a professional, volunteer-based fundraising team energise you? Are you experienced in developing and leading a fundraising strategy for nonprofits? Do you want to create successful campaigns and events to attract large donors? Apply now to become our Fundraising Lead, helping us unlock our unique potential to unite across Europe and make a real impact!

Do you want to contribute to Europe's future?

Volt stands for a united and federal Europe, where everyone has equal opportunities to fulfil their unique potential. We strive to achieve the highest human, environmental, social, and technological development together. We are a pan-European political movement with 200 elected representatives across Europe, including 5 members of the European Parliament, over 30,000 members and hundreds of volunteers who work hard to make our vision a reality.

Volt is an inclusive movement that wants to provide space for everyone to thrive. We believe the power of diversity achieves better results for our society at large. We can only be the inclusive political movement we aspire to be, if we represent different voices and perspectives in our society. Your skin colour, gender identity, disabilities, sexual orientation or religious belief do not matter. You are welcome in our organisation and we want to work together with you to create a better Europe for everyone.

What will you do?

As Fundraising lead, you will play a key role in the creation of a sustainable organisation to lead our European movement. You will:

  • Develop a pan-European fundraising strategy with a view to building a sustainable income for Volt through fundraising
  • Build and manage a strong team of volunteers to support the fundraising efforts
  • Find new donors & fundraising opportunities for Volt Europa
  • Create and maintain strong relationships between large donors and Volt Europa, for example by organising events and preparing tailored communications
  • Collaborate with national teams to support their local fundraising efforts

What skills do you need to excel in this role?

Research shows that (oftentimes) female candidates only apply when they meet 100% of the requirements, while male candidates do so when they meet just 60%. We explicitly encourage everyone to apply: you don’t have to tick every box to apply. We also consider your potential and motivation!

  • Strategic vision: You understand the fundraising landscape, are able to analyse opportunities and develop a strong vision for Volt’s future funding
  • Structure and project management expertise: You are well organised and structured, have effective project management and interpersonal skills to lead a team
  • Independent and proactive: You are driven, motivated and a self-starter who likes to take initiative
  • Representative: You communicate, present and influence effectively at all levels, externally and internally, making you able to establish strong connections with donors and stakeholders

What requirements do we ask for this role?

  • Professional fundraising experience: You bring 5+ years of experience working in a professional environment, preferably with people management experience and in a political party or non-profit organisation
  • Volunteer setting: You have experience working with volunteers, managing and empowering volunteers teams in a digital ecosystem

Nice to have:

  • You have experience working with high net worth individuals and scouting for grant opportunities
  • You are easy to connect with, and comfortable collaborating with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures, both in person and (very important) online

What do we offer?

  • Competitive salary for the non-profit sector
  • Time commitment can be negotiated
  • 30 days of holiday per contract year on a fulltime basis, in addition to public holidays
  • A dynamic environment where no day is the same and no challenge is too big for you and your colleagues
  • A flexible, remote work environment where you will collaborate with passionate, like-minded individuals from across Europe
  • Short decision-making processes, flat hierarchies and lots of room to implement your ideas
  • The unique chance to contribute to shaping Volt's success in Europe, to grow with our party and movement, and to have a positive impact on European society
