Project descriptionCentral University of Sierra Leone (CUSL) has requested the support of a Peace Corps Response Volunteer (PCRV) to serve as a Health Sciences Lecturer. The Department of Health Sciences at Central University is dedicated to training healthcare professionals who will play a critical role in improving the health outcomes in Sierra Leone. The department has identified a need for support from a lecturer who can contribute to teaching and curriculum development with a focus on modern healthcare practices. The program is designed to address the country’s healthcare challenges by providing education that emphasizes both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.The PCRV will deliver lectures in health-related courses and collaborate with local healthcare facilities to facilitate practical training for students. The PCRV will also supervise student research projects and provide academic counseling.Candidates selected for this position will be arriving in Sierra Leone together as a group, so while the departure dates for the whole group could change, dates cannot be changed for individual candidates.Required Skills

  • Master’s degree in Health Sciences, Public Health, or a related field.
  • At least one year of teaching experience at the tertiary level.
  • Experience in curriculum development and course design.
  • Strong communication and mentoring skills.
  • Proficiency in English
