An exciting opportunity to be part of the wider Governance, Risk and Compliance team within Perpetual Corporate Trust. Perpetual Corporate Trust (PCT),  is a specialist business within the Perpetual Group, is a leading fiduciary, custody and digital business in Australia, with operations in Singapore.  We provide a unique range of products to help clients, and the industry, be more effective, efficient and economical while managing ever-increasing cyber security risks and maintaining compliance. ​Domestic and global financial institutions leverage our corporate strength, commercial approach, risk and compliance practices, expertise and service excellence in debt markets, managed funds and digital solutions to enable our clients success.

We’re looking for a proactive senior risk professional to support the Head of PCT Risk. You’ll provide hands-on risk advice to senior stakeholders across the Debt Market Services and Perpetual Capital Markets units (including oversight of their risk management practices, “Risk in Change” advice on new initiatives and delivery of insightful executive and board level reporting).  You’ll also work collaboratively with peers to uplift risk capabilities and improve Governance Risk and Compliance processes across PCT.

About the Role

  • Provide oversight to ensure the adequacy of risk management practices within the Debt Markets Services, Perpetual Capital Markets business units and supporting enabling Operations and Finance functions. (Issue Management, Control Assessment, Risk Profiling, Key Risk Indicators)

  • Provide pragmatic Risk in Change advice to senior business stakeholders for any new initiatives within these business units.

  • Define and deliver enhancements to the risk management framework (including provision of training to stakeholders)

  • Work collaboratively with risk management peers to uplift team capabilitie

  • Prepare insightful risk management reporting to Corporate Trust Business Executives and Subsidiary Boards.

About you

We’re looking for someone with:

  • 10+ years Operational Risk Management Advisory experience within financial services (preferably financial markets or institutional banking)

  • Strong understanding of fixed income products, issuance processes, and debt market operations (highly desirable)

  • Strong relationship management skills with the ability to influence a diverse range of stakeholders from senior executive stakeholders to team members

  • Ability to work in an agile manner and operate effectively in time critical situations

  • High levels of curiosity to identify potential areas of weakness and develop innovative solutions to address

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
