This is a hybrid position which requires 8 days per month in our office in Washington DC, Brazil, London or The Hague. Existing work authorization is required at the time of application submission as WRI is unable to sponsor any visa work sponsorship for this position.
About the Program:
WRI’s Climate Program helps policymakers and civil society at the local, national and international levels advance the deep structural shifts necessary to address climate change. It focuses on four main areas: stepping up national climate action, advancing international climate action, tracking progress toward climate goals, and supporting equity and development goals in the transition to a zero-carbon economy. Since 2015, WRI’s Climate Program has worked with partners to strengthen climate action toward the achievement of the Paris Agreement goals, with a specific focus on enhancing nationally determined contributions (NDCs) and developing long-term strategies. As countries prepare to submit the next round of NDCs in 2025, WRI is working to seize this moment by mobilizing efforts to strengthen global mitigation actions and support the development of the next generation of NDCs.
Job Highlight:
You will be responsible for integrating equity into your work. WRI’s Climate Program seeks a detail-oriented, well organized, and highly motivated research analyst that will report to a Senior Associate. In this role, the successful candidate will support the research, analysis, project management, and outreach efforts in WRI's Climate Program, focused on advancing international climate action by ensuring countries increase their climate ambition in their next generation NDCs. The candidate will help implement WRI’s NDC-related activities and engage with external experts and policymakers. This involves engagement with WRI’s country offices and partners and supporting outreach to governments to promote the adoption of ambitious next generation NDCs. The research analyst will be part of a collaborative team of senior associates, research associates, project managers, and coordinators, all working together to enhance understanding of national progress on climate action and contribute to impactful analyses that support countries in strengthening their climate commitments.

What will you need:
Potential Salary: US salary range is between 57,000 and 62,0000 USD. UK Salary range is between 30,000 and 37,000 GBP. The Hague salary range is between 42,000 and 50,000 Euros. Salary is commensurate with experience and other compensable factors.
