Position: Self Storage Auction Coordinator/Specialist

Salary Range: 1,500 - 2,800 USD (depending on candidates’ experience and client approval)

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST (May involve occasional weekend work depending on auction schedules)

Overview of the Position

The Self Storage Auction Coordinator/Specialist is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the self-storage auction process, ensuring compliance with legal and company standards. This role involves coordinating lien sales, posting public notices, conducting lien searches, scheduling auctions, and auditing customer accounts to ensure adherence to lien procedures. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

Specific Duties And Responsibilities

  • Compliance Checks:
    • Conduct thorough compliance checks for upcoming lien sales to ensure all procedures align with state laws and company policies.
    • Maintain accurate records of compliance checks and report any discrepancies to management.
  • Public Sale Notices:
    • Coordinate with publishers to post public sale notices in accordance with legal requirements and company timelines.
    • Review and verify the accuracy of all public sale notices before publication.
  • Lien Searches:
    • Perform lien searches as required for customers scheduled for auction to ensure that all liens are identified and handled properly.
    • Maintain a log of all lien searches conducted and update customer files accordingly.
  • Auction Scheduling:
    • Schedule units for auctions, ensuring that all legal requirements are met and that auction schedules are communicated effectively to all relevant parties.
    • Coordinate with auctioneers and other stakeholders to ensure smooth auction operations.
  • Customer Account Audits:
    • Audit customer accounts and files to ensure that lien procedures have been followed correctly.
    • Identify and correct any issues or discrepancies in customer files related to lien procedures.
  • Reporting:
    • Generate regular reports on auction activities, compliance checks, and lien searches for management review.
    • Provide insights and recommendations to improve auction processes and compliance adherence.
Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in business administration, law, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in self-storage operations, auctions, or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Skills:
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
    • Knowledge of self-storage lien laws and auction procedures is a plus.
Working Conditions

  • May involve occasional weekend work depending on auction schedules.
