We are looking for a highly skilled Data Slinger with in-depth experience in asset management and expertise in both ABOR (Accounting Book of Record) and IBOR (Investment Book of Record) systems.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing large datasets, building robust data pipelines, and ensuring data integrity across financial operations, especially within the context of back-office and front-office asset management processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and manage scalable data pipelines for the ingestion, processing, and transformation of large datasets across various asset management functions.
- Collaborate with asset management teams to align data strategies with business objectives, ensuring timely and accurate data flow across ABOR and IBOR systems. ABOR: Ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting, tax lot calculations, and regulatory data management. IBOR: Provide real-time data for portfolio management, trading, performance analysis, and risk management.
- Perform in-depth data assessments to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency in accounting and investment data across systems.
- Develop and maintain data models, marts, and reporting structures for asset and investment management use cases.
- Lead the integration and synchronization of data between back-office accounting systems (ABOR) and front/middle-office investment systems (IBOR) to enable seamless operations and decision-making.
- Implement best practices in data governance, ensuring data security, quality, and compliance with industry regulations.
- Work closely with stakeholders, including asset managers, compliance teams, and IT, to ensure robust and reliable data processes.
- Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for any data-related issues, ensuring minimal disruption to asset management operations.
- Utilize modern data tools such as SQL, Python and cloud platforms for data transformation, analysis, and reporting.
- Bachelor s degree in data science, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in data engineering with a specific focus on asset management and financial operations.
- Proven expertise in working with both ABOR (Accounting Book of Record) and IBOR (Investment Book of Record) systems.
- Experience in designing and managing data pipelines and transformations using modern tools and frameworks (e.g., DBT, Apache Airflow, Spark).
- Strong SQL and Python programming skills, with experience in data platforms such as Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.
- In-depth knowledge of asset management workflows, including trade execution, portfolio management, risk analysis, and financial reporting.
- Experience with data governance frameworks, ensuring data quality, security, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders across front, middle, and back offices.
- Previous experience in financial services, particularly in asset management, portfolio analytics, or risk management.
- Familiarity with cloud-based data infrastructure (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure) and big data tools.
- Experience integrating ABOR and IBOR systems to improve data flow, reduce operational risk, and support real-time decision-making.
