We are looking for a Data Analyst to work with our Data Engineering team and provide support in completing a variety of functions relating to new data and reporting initiatives.

We are looking for a Data Analyst to work with our Data Engineering team and provide support in completing a variety of functions relating to new data and reporting initiatives.

The position will be responsible for aggregating data from multiple sources and turning it into insightful, actionable reporting.


How you’ll make an impact:

  • Turn large data sets into relevant, actionable reporting that is easy to understand.
  • Design and create visual reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Hypothesize about and analyze data to gain insights on past and future library user trends.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop and productize new data reports from user and library data.
  • Take part in requirements analysis directly with customers.
  • Develop reporting and visualizations for customers and internal use.
  • Contribute towards establishing data best practices at BiblioCommons.


This is a remote 6-month contract role based out of Canada.



What you bring to the team:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in data analysis, BI reporting, and visualization.
  • Strong SQL skills.
  • Understanding of databases and data modelling, including understanding of interdependencies across database tables and attributes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies is a plus.


Bonus points for experience with:

  • GA4 and its BigQuery data model
  • Apache Superset, PowerBI, or similar visualization tools
  • GCP data services (ie. BigQuery, Cloud Composer, etc) or AWS equivalents
  • Data analysis and statistics tools (ie. R, Pandas, Statsmodels, etc)
  • Modelling and data quality tools (ie. DBT, Great Expectations, or similar)
  • Dagster, Airflow, or other data orchestration frameworks
