About The Role

The mission of the Education & Enablement team is to educate the Shopify ecosystem with strategic content across the customer journey, allowing learners to thrive in their roles. We oversee the creation of educational content by creating courses, learning paths, and certifications to best meet the needs of our merchants and partners.

We are looking for an Education Program Lead to join our team. In this role, you will lead a team of Program Managers who work cross-functionally to build effective education and enablement programs using courses, learning paths, webinars, toolkits and other forms of 1:many content to enable our merchants and partners.

Working closely with our Video production, Instructional Designers and subject matter experts you will drive the team to create world-class commerce education.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate across the Education and Enablement leadership team, and the wider Revenue Organization to define the future direction for the team and deliver potentially massive impact for our Partners and Merchants ?
  • Lead a team of program managers that oversee and build education and enablement content and programs for our Shopify Academy and other educational channels.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and coaching to your team, empowering them to enhance their skills and achieve their individual goals
  • Streamline operational processes to enhance performance and velocity, prioritizing rapid launch and subsequent iteration
  • Create a consistent framework to uncover education & enablement needs by program area, audience, persona and region, be able to articulate areas of focus, and ensure narrative consistency.
  • Obsess over customer impact and feedback, using data to provide insights and drive continuous improvement in processes, product and service.
  • Communicate effectively and regularly to ensure all stakeholders are aligned and understand program impact.
  • Partner with other critical functions like Product, Partnerships, Merchant Success and Marketing to ensure we are designing audience specific education and enablement programs and they are aligned to strategic priorities.
  • Manage relationships with vendors, freelancers, and agencies
  • Manage overall quality control with high version control standards, and content that’s developed according to brand and Shopify Academy standards


Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in education, enablement or product marketing with strong program and project management skills. Minimum of 3+ years of leadership experience.
  • Experience leading high performing teams, and coaching and mentoring others is a must
  • Act as a strategic leader managing a highly cross-functional team with demonstrated experience driving transformation and innovation in education.
  • Passion for enabling a culture of creativity, bias for action and for providing exceptional customer experiences
  • Experience sourcing and working with external agencies, vendors, individual freelancers, and budgets.
  • Experience scaling customer education programs serving multi-faceted audiences.
  • Experience with fostering collaborative relationships with product and marketing teams to deliver sales-ready training content.
