Your tasks 

  • Optical design of novel beam shaping elements for materials processing using ultrashort pulsed lasers

  • Design of efficient and high-power resistant diffractive optics and digital holograms

  • Laser beam characterization of shaped focus distribution

  • Testing and characterization of optical components

  • Development of control loops based on adaptive optical components

  • Optimization of optical designs based in in-situ diagnostics of light-matter interaction

What we are looking for 

  • Background in physics, engineering, electrical engineering, or a comparable field of study

  • First experience in Laser physics and optical design are welcome

  • Programming experience with Python, C# or MATLAB are welcome

  • First experiences with optics design software like OpticStudio, VirtualLab, or Code V are welcome

  • Lab experience with handling of optical components useful

  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office

  • Very good language skills in English and German

  • Analytical and conceptual skills, structured and independent way of working
