Job Description

Title: Training Specialist

Department: Tennessee Corrections Institute Training Division

  • Develop high-quality training curricula tailored to corrections and law enforcement, including core and specialized content.
  • Perform comprehensive research on current events and industry trends to assess and define training needs.
  • Work collaboratively with training staff to establish and achieve short-term and long-term curriculum goals.
  • Ensure effective communication with team members to deliver all projects within deadlines.
  • Participate in both virtual and in-person meetings to align strategies and progress with team objectives.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews to maintain and enhance the effectiveness of existing training materials.
  • Utilize the ACADIS/FTACS platform (TCI's Learning Management System) proficiently to design, manage, and evaluate training programs and events.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in corrections, criminal justice, or related field preferred, but not required.
  • Previous experience in law enforcement, corrections, or related field is highly preferred.
  • Previous experience in creating training content is highly preferred.
  • Above average proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Word, and Excel is required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and outside professionals.
  • Ability to consistently meet performance deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop training curriculum, training content, and points of instruction.
