In Summary:

Due to the continued growth of WHG and the successful granting of over 20 operational licenses and over 150 personal licenses globally, a new operational role is available within our Legal, Compliance and Regulatory department’s Licensing team. You will be reporting directly to the Head of Regulatory Affairs and your focus will be to support and assist him and the Licensing Manager in all licensing and due diligence matters.

The Job:

  • Provide ongoing assistance to the Head of Regulatory Affairs and the Licensing Manager on a variety of projects, including but not limited to license applications, license maintenance and due diligence.
  • Assist in the maintenance and renewal of company and personal licenses.
  • Assist in the collation and storing of due diligence records using Jira, to include inbound due diligence requests from third parties and the continual management of outbound due diligence requests.
  • Providing ad-hoc support to the WHG legal team on a variety of legal issues including, for example, contractual agreements, data protection and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist in the collation of monthly, quarterly and annual regulatory reports.
  • Keep up-to-date records of all license applications and granted licenses, including keeping central spreadsheets and licence registers up to date.
  • Responsible for the WHG licensing mailbox to ensure all tasks are noted and transferred to the Licensing To-Do-List.
  • Responsible for chasing up responses to emails and following up on email requests to ensure that tasks are completed as quickly and efficiently as possible.
  • Regularly review licensing regulations to ensure that requirements are being met in each jurisdiction.
  • Liaise with applicants, regulators, external counsel and suppliers in relation to fulfilling the licensing requirements.
  • Regularly update guidance documents, assist with the creation of newly required guidance documents and the continued collation of internal know-how documents.

What you already have:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy are essential parts of this role.
  • Experience working in a regulated industry, with gambling industry experience desirable.
  • Experience working in a licensing department or assisting with license applications is also desirable.
  • Previous legal experience or training is desirable.
  • Understanding of why due diligence in necessary and how the due diligence process should be managed, both inbound and outbound.
  • Ability to manage a busy workload with multiple (and often tight) deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision.
  • Ability to work pro-actively and to grab the initiative.
  • Great communication with the ability to build strong relationships and influence at senior levels.
  • Solutions focussed.
  • Creative thinker that will bring innovative practices and solutions.
  • A collaborative style and happy to participate across the team at all levels.
  • Excellent Microsoft skills, including Word and Excel.
  • Jira and Confluence experience is desirable.
  • Flexibility and willingness to support unplanned and unexpected events to support the team and broader business.
