About The Role In this role, you will be essential in deriving valuable insights from complex datasets, thereby contributing to data-driven decision-making processes and fostering innovation through advanced analytical methods. As a Senior Data Scientist reporting to the Head of Data Science, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop models, algorithms, and predictive tools that enhance products and services. The primary focus will be on developing key data science products, including patented algorithms and rating systems. Responsibilities - Employ advanced data analysis and modeling techniques to derive actionable insights from various datasets. - Design, develop, and implement machine learning models and algorithms for both predictive and prescriptive analytics. - Apply data science to drive revenue growth and enhance user engagement on web and mobile platforms. - Contribute to feature engineering of product data to optimize model performance and interpretability. - Work closely with software engineers to deploy models in production systems and monitor their effectiveness. - Simplify complex findings and technical concepts for communication to non-technical stakeholders. Must have - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. - Proven experience (5+ years) as a Data Scientist with a successful track record in solving real-world challenges using data-driven methods. - Strong programming skills in languages such as Python and R, along with experience using relevant libraries (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn, matplotlib, seaborn, pyplot). - Ability to compose complex SQL queries to extract and manipulate data from databases. - Familiarity with ELO-like algorithms. - Experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure). - Exposure to third-party platforms and APIs. - Expertise in data preprocessing, exploratory data analysis, data visualization, and feature engineering. - Proficiency in machine learning methods such as classification, regression, and clustering. - Experience in Deep Learning modeling using TensorFlow or PyTorch. - Strong understanding of statistical concepts and hypothesis testing. - Excellent problem-solving abilities and capacity to work collaboratively in cross-functional settings. - Strong written and verbal communication skills to present technical findings to both technical and non-technical teams. - Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to create impactful visual representations of insights. Good to have - C# experience and familiarity with Azure ML are strongly preferred. - Experience with (or understanding of) Belief Networks. What is Offered The estimated base salary range for this position is between $120,000 and $155,000, along with an equity compensation package. Final base salaries will consider a variety of factors, including skills, experience, and organizational needs. Please note that this range does not account for geographic location differentials. Although headquartered in Palo Alto, CA, this position is fully remote and US-based.
