Our UI Engineer will be an integral part of our UX and Design team in EMEA. This role is based remotely, and will sit ideally in or around the UK, Ireland, Spain, Estonia, Israel or Sweden.

The Opportunity
As our only UI Engineer within the UX Team you will have the chance to own and shape the role. This position is perfect for a driven and ambitious individual who has a passion for producing accessible, scalable and usable design systems.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of all front-end and coding aspects of the DoiT Design System and help us continue to develop and refine our best practices
  • Develop reusable React components that adhere to MUI best practices with a focus on accessibility, usability and responsive design
  • Collaborate with UX Designers and Engineers
  • Create and own the Design system roadmap, as well as the adoption of it within DoiT’s Engineering teams

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience with React, Typescript, HTML5, CSS3, Material UI, WCAG, and web usability
  • Experience building responsive layouts
  • Experienced with the creation and maintenance of Design Systems using Storybook
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills and be able to influence and educate peers and stakeholders
  • Be a proactive self-starter, who is able to work in a fast-paced, remote environment
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends and help to ensure that excellent customer experience remains a primary area of competitive differentiation
  • Have an expert knowledge of design tooling (Figma, Sketch etc)
  • Be able to demonstrate a deep understanding and appreciation of UX principles
  • Be a quality-focussed Engineer with a keen attention to detail
  • Be curious, eager to learn, quick to ask questions, and keen to develop and expand their existing professional competencies
